Rooted in Phoenix, Strengthened by Community

“Growing up in Phoenix taught me the value of community, resilience, and standing up for the 'little guy.”

Roots in Community

An Arizonan native, I was born and raised in Phoenix, right here in District 4. Our home is just half a mile from the house my parents brought me from the hospital. Growing up in Phoenix and attending St. Gregory’s Elementary, St. Francis, and Sunnyslope High School gave me a strong foundation and a deep connection to this community. Some of my fondest memories are rooted in our neighborhoods. I spent my childhood riding bikes with friends, climbing trees, and learning to swim at Encanto Park, where I later joined the swim team and picked up my first tennis racket. Today, you will see me walking, riding my electric scooter or running the same streets. While my education took me to the International School of Brussels, Guanajuato, the University of Arizona, and even a semester at the University of Chile, I always came back home. Phoenix has always been, and will always be, my home, where I met my Puerto Rican wife, Emily, who made me a proud bonus dad of two young adults, Marco and Mia, and granddad to a two-year-old, bilingual golden retriever, Apollo.

Values and Motivation

I was raised by loving and supportive parents whose examples shaped my values, but like many, my journey wasn’t without challenges. Experiencing bullying at a young age taught me the importance of standing up for others, and it made me a fighter and a protector for those who need it most. Growing up in Phoenix taught me that we are stronger when we look out for one another, and that is exactly what I continue to do for our community. From walking around our neighborhood with my mother to gather signatures as a child, to serving as a lifeguard and youth commissioner in high school, to leading student advocacy in college, public service has always been my calling. I’ve carried that belief into my adult life, mentoring at-risk youth through the Chávez Youth Community Foundation, serving on neighborhood and village planning boards, and working every day to strengthen families, small businesses, and communities across Phoenix.

I believe in a Phoenix where every voice matters, every neighborhood is valued, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Service, equity, and community are at the heart of everything I do. My commitment is to be an ally for District 4 residents, someone who listens, stands by you, and fights for fairness, opportunity, and the best possible quality of life for all our neighbors. #AMSPHX - We Are Stronger Together!

Experience and Qualifications

As the founder and President of LMC Enterprises Consulting, I bring over 20 years of

experience in business development, government outreach, and nonprofit management. My career has always been centered on strengthening our community. At Arizona PBS Kids, I helped develop education and training programs for early childcare providers, supported efforts to improve pay and conditions for domestic workers, and worked to expand access to affordable housing for low-income families. I gained a deep understanding of how city government works through my years of service on the staff of three Phoenix City Council members. More recently, I have contributed to Phoenix’s economic growth by working directly with small businesses, helping them succeed and create jobs. These combined experiences, spanning education, housing, worker rights, small business, and city governance, have prepared me to effectively serve the residents of the district and deliver results that improve the quality of life for all. Growing up in Phoenix taught me the value of community, resilience, and standing up for the “little guy.” My work in education, housing, and small business development has shown me how city policies impact people’s daily lives and how we can make them work more effectively.

Phoenix has always been my home, and I want to make sure it’s a place where everyone feels they belong.

As your Council member, I will bring both personal understanding and professional experience to fight for fairness, equity, and opportunity for every neighbor in District 4.

Community Service and Involvement

Service has always been at the heart of my life. For over a decade, I’ve worked with the Chávez Youth and Community Foundation, where I also served as President, helping at-risk youth gain leadership, career, and life skills through boxing and fitness. On a neighborhood level, I have served as Vice President of the Willo Neighborhood Association and Chair of the Encanto Village Planning Committee, keeping me closely connected to the voices of our neighborhoods. I’ve also led and supported organizations across our city, from chairing the Diversity Committee with the Phoenix Symphony Board of Overseers, to strengthening families through the YMCA Reach and Rise Strategic and Financial Sustainability Committee, to advancing early childhood education as Vice President of Policy and Advocacy for the Valley of the Sun Association for the Education of Young Children.

I believe in Phoenix and in the people who make it strong. My focus is not just on solving

challenges, but on developing the skills, talents, and leadership that already exist within our community. Together, we can shape a city where everyone has the chance to thrive.

Vision for the future

This isn’t just about policy for me. It’s about walking the same streets I grew up on and seeing my neighbors succeed. I believe Phoenix’s future is brighter when we work together. By bringing people together across neighborhoods, backgrounds, and experiences, we can build a city where every voice matters, every resident feels valued, and every family has the chance to thrive. Together, we will create a stronger, more united Phoenix, one where hope turns into action and action leads to lasting, positive change.
